Selyava
The largest body of water in the north-west of Belarus, formed as a result of the construction of the dam of the Selyavskaya hydroelectric station at the small river Yugna in 1963.
Lake Selyava is the longest of all in the country, and its length is 14.4 km, but the width is relatively small, only 2.5 km. The total area of the reservoir is 15 km².
As with many geographic features, many legends are associated with water bodies. For example, local residents claim that in 1942 the PE-8 bomber fell into the waters of Seljava, transporting gold to England.

Long
Dolgoe Lake, which is located in the Glubokoe district and is included in the basin of the Western Dvina, is the deepest lake in the Republic of Belarus.
The greatest depth of the Long 53.6 meters, but the average depths do not exceed 16 meters. It is also unique in that only in its waters rare species of crustaceans Limnocalanus macrurus and Pallasea quadrispinosa are found.
Ecological purity, amazing flora and fauna contributed to the fact that in the late 70s of the last century, Dolgoe became a nature reserve of national importance.

Naroch
This magnificent lake is the largest in the country. It is located on the territory of the same named Narochansky Reserve, and together with other reservoirs it makes up a whole complex of beautiful lakes.
The total area of the water mirror is 79.6 km² and the depth reaches 24 meters. The name of the reservoir, most likely, came from the Baltic language in antiquity, and it was fixed.
Numerous settlements, as well as motels and the popular children's health center Zubrenok, stretch along the banks.

Red Lake
Locals often call this wonderful reservoir, which spread its waters in the Belarusian Polesie, in the old fashioned Prince Lake.

This is one of the westernmost lakes in Belarus, and it is located in the Brest region.

Lukomskoe
