Old age is a loose concept. This is also a habit typical of old age, as well as a general change in the way of thinking.
What used to cause bewilderment or regret when looking at older relatives imperceptibly for a person becomes a part of his personality. And yesterday, a young man (or girl) turns into a mature man (or woman), and then into an old man (old woman).
The fact that old age comes into law is evidenced by 10 important signs:
10. Decreased immunity
With the onset of old age in the human body, antibodies that get in the way of harmful viruses and bacteria are not produced as actively as under the “young shell”. Because of this, sores begin to simply "stick" to a person. And each new pulls the next. If before, if something happened, everything went away on its own, but now it is much more difficult to cure the disease.
Ailment is gradually turning into an integral part of life. The expression becomes relevant: “if you got up in the morning and nothing hurts, then you have died.”
9. Slowness
With the onset of old age, movements slow down, and many become cautious. What was previously managed to be done effortlessly turns into a separate task requiring special concentration.
Slowness begins to manifest itself not only in the physical plane, but also at the level of thinking and perception. And now the TV is annoying, in which the host of the youth program, as if from a machine gun, scribbles with quick phrases. I would like to switch to TV shows, where they say much more slowly.
And in general, there is a need to live leisurely.
8. Reluctance to visit
The lack of desire to make visits manifests itself in old age even among the most active before and very sociable people. It’s still possible to receive guests in one’s house, and to drag oneself somewhere to the other side of the city or even to a neighboring street, especially in the evening, becomes completely unbearable.
After a nice tea party or even a full dinner, you want to immediately go to your favorite bed or do your usual household chores. And you still have to get to your porch. So it turns out that it’s easier not to go anywhere at all.
7. The propensity for hoarding
Old age is traditionally associated with poverty. At the same time, having reached a certain age, anyone begins to understand that tomorrow there may not even be the forces that exist today. Earning may not work. And if a serious illness catches up, you can even remain a beggar, having squandered all the nest egg for treatment. Therefore, over the years, the habit of saving is becoming stronger.
There is an underlying desire to save money for death, but otherwise the desire to create a personal money fund ceases to be associated with a specific goal. Money in and of itself is becoming more and more like "vitamins for the heart."
6. Visual and hearing impairment
Over the years, it’s not so clear to see and hear. It is a fact. The mucous membrane of the eye is no longer so effective. A feeling of dryness arises more and more often in the eyes.
The eye muscles weaken, signs of senile vision appear, when it is difficult to see objects located close.
Sulfur begins to accumulate faster in the ears, in many people the eardrum thickens and the cartilage on the outside of the ear increases in size. This leads to a decrease in hearing acuity.
5. Rare wardrobe update
A sign of old age is the loss of interest in new things. Such trifles cease to matter.
Convenience of clothes becomes much more important, but not its beauty. If the old, once elegant dress, while remaining comfortable, has lost its former gloss, this is not a reason to throw it away for a new outfit. It is no longer possible for a person of age to impress others with his appearance, which means that chasing fashion is not necessary - this is the reason of many who have reached a period of old age.
4. Lips have lost color and volume.
As you live, your lips do not become as bright and puffy as in your youth. For many old people, this part of the face is sometimes almost invisible. As you live, the same processes occur with the lips as with the skin in general. Collagen production is reduced, tissue elasticity is lost. And diseases associated with blood and vascular conditions lead to a change in the color of the lips.
3. Increase sleep time
From a certain age, people begin to notice for themselves that they often want to sleep. And even though the elderly person’s normal sleep is only six and a half hours, over the years the desire to spend more time in a dream becomes more apparent. This is due to the fact that the duration of superficial sleep increases, and in the deep stage, a person spends much less time than in his youth.
Superficial sleep does not allow you to sleep well, so senile drowsiness turns into a common thing.
2. Problems with new technologies
In old age, people do not grasp information as quickly as in young years. But the point is not only that the learning process at a more mature age becomes more complicated, but also in the conservatism inherent in the elderly.
Often, old people do not perceive technical novelty, because they do not understand how it can be useful to them in life. And even if an opportunity is provided for a simpler and more modern way of solving the problem, it is easier for them to act with the old methods.
1. Condemnation of others
Behavior when a person condemns, if not all around, then many, it is no coincidence that he becomes a companion of old age. Often this condemnation is aggressive.
The older a person becomes, the more he moves away from the active part of society. Over time, he begins to notice that his opinion ceases to matter, and this cannot but cause irritation.
The role is also played by the stiffness of worldviews, the reluctance to accept it as it is today.
