In 2018, several high-profile exclusives were released for the Playstation 4 console, but there were also cross-platform projects that were soundly adapted to the Sony console hardware. In this material, we will recall how the developers pleased us in the past year and will collect the top ten best games available for purchase right now.
10. Monster Hunter: World
Action RPG Monster Hunter: World was released in January on consoles, and at the end of summer it reached personal computers. This is the fifth part of the series from Capcom, in which the studio decided to abandon the loaded locations, making the world open. As before, the game will play for the Hunter in the third-person mode, and for fans of the joint passage, a cooperative mode with support for 4 players is available. The PS version has a Metacritic score of 90 out of 100, so if the release has passed you, go to the PS Store urgently.
9. Battlefield V
In the fifteenth of their series, developers from EA DICE returned to the roots by creating a game in the setting of World War II. Announced in May, it came out in November, not meeting expectations for sales: the main competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, sold a large print run. However, the game did not become bad from this: as always, dynamic gameplay, excellent graphics, a digestible plot - all this is in place.
8. A Way Out
This game was expected from the very moment of its announcement at the E3 exhibition in 2017, and the Gazeta.ru publication even included it in the top ten most anticipated projects of 2018. The thing is that yousef Fares, the author of the masterpiece Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, was responsible for its development. In A Way Out, Fares went along the beaten track, taking as a basis the mechanics from the Brothers, finalizing and improving it. Passage is designed for two people, each of which controls one of two characters. They are prisoners in a prison from which it is necessary to escape. For the escape to succeed, you will have to interact a lot with each other and the world around us, so good teamwork is needed.
7. The Crew 2
In recent years, many game genres are on the rise, while others, on the contrary, are in recession. The latter include races: there are very few good simulators and arcades, and The Crew series is a pleasant exception. Released at the end of June, the second part took all the best from the original, becoming bigger and better. We have to take control of a little-known rider who wants to become the best in his field. You can participate both in classic "pokatushki" on cars, and set speed records on motorcycles, boats and even airplanes.
6. Red Dead Redemption 2
The third part in the Red Dead series, a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. Players from around the world have been waiting for the release of the second part for 8 years, but the wait was worth it. Slowly and thoughtfully, Rockstar created an RPG in an open world that will be remembered for many years. You plunge into the atmosphere of 1899, where banditry flourishes in the Wild West. One of the robbers from the high road will be the player, having gone from a rank-and-file robber to a person respected in certain circles.
5. Far Cry 5
In the fifth part of the eponymous series of events take place in Montana, where taking control of an assistant to the local sheriff, we have to fight the sect "Gate of Eden." The game was released in March on all relevant platforms, including Playstation 4. Over the first week of sales, more than $ 300 million was earned, making it the most commercially successful part of the series, and in general, Ubisoft earned more only on sales " Tom Clancy's The Division. "
4. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
This unfinished building, the creation of which the Czechs from Warhorse Studios took 4 years. Throughout all this time, they fueled public interest by regularly publishing on Kickstarter, where they got funding, reports and teasers, so they looked forward to the RPG. Its distinguishing feature is the realism of the gameplay and the authenticity of the surrounding world: there is no fantasy even close. If you don’t eat, you will die. If you don’t sleep, the same thing will happen. Definitely, such difficulties are not to everyone's liking, but it is unlikely that somewhere else you can enjoy the beauties of medieval Bohemia.
3. Spider-Man
This title is a full-fledged exclusive PS4, the announcement of which took place in 2016, and the release in September 2018. The successful film about Spider-Man helped attract a large audience, which affected sales, which significantly exceeded analysts' forecasts. However, the plot of the game and the picture are in no way connected: in Spider-Man, Peter Parker is already 23 years old, and he graduated from high school long ago, and has already had abilities for 8 years. Parker's main task is to clean up the streets of New York from bandits, who, as always, are there in a pack around every corner. It is also worth paying attention to the DLC, of which there are already three: “Robbery”, “Gang Wars”, and “Silver Ray”. You can get them all together in the set "City that never sleeps."
2. Detroit: Become Human
The second exclusive console from Sony in our selection, created by Quantic Dream, which previously gave the world titles such as Heavy Rain and Fahrenheit. The plot revolves around three main characters at once in 2038, with a separate story for each. At first glance, they are not connected in any way, but as you progress through, more and more threads will appear, and as a result, everything will turn into a single, fairly integral picture.
1. God of War
We will finish today's ten adventures of the aged Kratos, who moved to Scandinavia, where he began a relationship with a mortal woman who bore him a son. The legendary warrior was practically not involved in his upbringing, but after the death of the mother of the child he had no choice. The game is fundamentally different from the previous parts, as it is no longer based on Greek mythology, but on Scandinavian. There are no gods of Olympus: you will find the stern Midgard, in which their no less colorful monsters live.
